Halo: Combat Evolved · Xbox
Not for Resale — launch box, 0901
How to identify it
The launch artwork with its own part number. The cover is the plain 2001 one — no star — and the back reads 0901 Part No. X08-55798, not the retail X08-54526. The case is marked Not for Resale.
Both assemblies of the retail launch box turn up in this one too: some copies hold the 0901 booklet X08-54602 with the Master Chief insert 0701 X08-29230, others the 1201 booklet X08-51900 with the Brutus insert 1001 X08-56362. The disc is the left-Warthog 0901 Part No. X08-54601 in both.
VGCollect records these as having been sold to Xbox launch-team staff at the Microsoft campus store.

Notes
No print position. The box is dated to the launch month, but a copy that was never sold at retail is not a printing of the retail run, and giving it a number would say something about the run that is not true.
The campus-store story comes from a VGCollect entry and is recorded as that entry's claim.
