How to identify it

Nobody has established where this sits in the print run. Set the print if you can show it came first — and say how you know.

Gold Game of the Year! cover, marked Not for Resale.
Back reads 0903 Part No. X10-16810 — September 2003.
Its disc is its own. 0903 Part No. X10-16812, a Not for Resale label, not the retail right-Warthog X10-18964. That makes this the one Halo disc in the North American run that can be placed on its own.
Inside: the misprint booklet 0903 Part No. X10-17353 and a Manning insert 0702 Part No. X08-87911.

Halopedia records a 2004 special edition that differs from the retail copy only by a Not for Resale notice on the front of the case, which is the shape of this row.

Notes

Worth knowing for one reason: its disc part number is unique to it. Every other North American disc here shares a number with at least one other printing.
