About
Halo 2 arrived on 9 November 2004 and sold 2.4 million copies for up to US$125 million in 24 hours — at the time the highest-grossing release in entertainment, ahead of any film opening.
For a sealed copy, the first print is easy. The launch printing was wrapped with an orange DO NOT SELL BEFORE 11/09/04 seal, and later printings were not. A sealed standard box without that sticker is a later print.
For an opened copy it is harder, and this page says so rather than filling the gap with guesses. No date code has been recorded for the North American standard box, so an opened first print rests on the black Xbox band along the top and the item number M41-00028.
The disc places nothing. One USA dump exists, with no revisions, and it serves the standard release, the Limited Collector's Edition and the European Classics reissue alike.
The one number worth chasing: the four digits in front of the part number on the back of a standard box. The Limited Collector's Edition's cover is dated 0904, so the standard box should read 0904 or later. One photograph would turn this page into a print chain.
