About
Halo 3 reached shelves on 25 September 2007 and took $170 million in the United States on its first day, a record for a game's opening 24 hours at the time.
The box is dated like every other Microsoft box of the era. The back of the launch print reads 0707 Part No. X13-65797-01 — July 2007 — and the pieces inside carry their own codes: the booklet 0907, the controls poster 0707, the disc 0707. A Halo Wars promo sheet rides along for a game that was still eighteen months out.
Everything that separates the prints is on the packaging. One USA disc dump covers the standard release, Classics, Platinum Hits, the Limited Edition and the Legendary Edition, so the disc data is identical in every box ever sold here.
The part number does not change across the standard run either — only the four digits in front of it do, and the line under the UPC naming the plant. Read those two.
